The Diameter of Peace

“No one does anything inappropriate, given their model of the world.”
That’s a hard one to swallow, huh? But given Trump’s perspective of the world, his personal and singular experience as a rich white kid in America, based on his very unique angle of life, isn’t he right in all his political, social and spiritual views? Given my perspective of the world, my personal and singular experience as a poor-to-middle-class black girl in France, based on my very unique angle of life, am I not right in all my political, social and spiritual views?

The problem is I’ve never seen nor experienced Trump’s angle. It’s probably diametrically opposite to mine, and only God is able to encompass all angles of the universe, all experiences of every being that ever existed.

So what’s left? I suppose just the certainty that my neighbour has his experience to which I am blind, and I have my experience to which he is blind. Therefore unless the experience is revealed to me in every intimate detail, I am bound to face a degree of ignorance.

Should I fear or should I trust? I prefer trust, trust that my neighbour is coming with his point of view, with his angle of life in a genuine fashion. Trust that his path led him to who and where he is today, the same as my path led me to who and where I am today, genuinely. Trust that he doesn’t lie the same as I don’t. Trust that he doesn’t want to quarrel the same as I don’t. Trust that he’s coming in peace the same as I am.

Do you get the mirror effect? That’s the most exquisite.
